Building Commissioner
The Building Commissioner directs the operations of the Village’s Building, Engineering, and Planning. The Building Commissioner is responsible for ensuring that all plans, buildings, and zoning conform to local, state and federal regulations pertaining to building and zoning of the Village.

Don Mercer is currently contracted with the Village providing services as Building Official, Plans Examiner, and Building Inspector. These services are to be provided in accordance with the requirements of the State of Ohio relative to maintaining the Village's Building Department certification. Don has been in this position at the Village since 2003. Mr. Mercer retired from the City of Cincinnati after working as a Building Inspector for 30 years.

Code Enforcement

The Code Enforcement Officer is responsible for performing inspections and investigations concerning violations of local and state laws. Determines the presence of health hazards, nuisance violations, unsafe building conditions and violations of any health, building or land use regulation, statute or ordinance. Aid property owners in the abatement of a nuisance.
