Strategic Plan: Charting the Village's Revitalization

The Village of Lincoln Heights is implementing a six-point strategic plan that is laser-focused on the critical elements that will continue to drive its revitalization – economic development, Village infrastructure, Village operations, safety, communication and building stronger stakeholder relationships. The plan centers on two main goals: creating a sustainable economic base for the Village and improving services for our residents.

A sustainable economic base requires more income and lower expenses. The Village is focusing on attracting and retaining residents and businesses and exploring public and private financing opportunities. We have developed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Port Authority to establish a collaborative relationship. The MOU outlines a mutual understanding between both parties and facilitates communication between them to help guide the course of housing development and revitalization work in the Village.

Ongoing meetings with Hamilton County officials has yielded partial funding for our Wi-Fi system. A grant from the Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority (SORTA) helped the Village complete some much-needed street repairs. Several prominent local companies have partnered with the Village on a variety of projects, which will be publicly announced soon.

As with all municipalities, resident safety is our primary service focus. Lincoln Heights in the second year of the Hamilton County Community Oriented Policing Services Grant (COPS). The grant provides additional manpower and resources in Lincoln Heights and is a collaborative partnership between law enforcement and the individuals/organizations it serves to both develop solutions to problems and increase trust in police. Along with the grant, community-based crime reduction provides the intelligence-led operations assistance for the COPS grant.

Other service upgrades include a newly-formed Department of Public Works, planned Wi-Fi network for residents  and code enforcement to not only identify problems but help residents fix them.
