E-Waste Collection Event was a Success
On Saturday, October 21, the Village of Lincoln Heights teamed with the Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub on an e-waste trash collection event. The event was a huge success and allowed residents to get rid of all manner of items they held onto for many years because they didn’t know how to properly dispose of them. All told, the event served 45 residents and resulted in the collection of 4,293.8 pounds of electronic waste. That’s more than two tons! Here’s how it broke down:
- 366 pounds of general electronics
- 896 pounds of audio & video equipment, printers, and e-media
- 1,354 pounds of computer central processing units (CPUs)
- 1,798 pounds of TVs (flat screens, CRTs, etc.)
- 338 pounds of wire and related miscellaneous items
- 40.8 pounds of batteries
- 21 pounds of Holiday string lights
Thank you to Cincinnati Recycling and Reuse Hub for hosting the event and to the many volunteers and Village staff who helped make it such a success. We’re hoping to offer the event again to Village residents, so stay tuned.
