Vacant Spot on Village Council

Requirements For Service As a Member of the 2024 Lincoln Heights Council

  1. Submission deadline for application is Tuesday, January 16, 2024 at 5:00 p.m.
  2. Complete the attached "Application for Service as a Member of Council".
  3. Must Reside in the Village of Lincoln Heights for a continuous period of one year prior to November 7, 2023.
  4. Must be current on all tax filings with the Village of Lincoln Heights.
  5. Must not be delinquent on taxes owed to the Village of Lincoln Heights, convicted of a felony, treason, or imprisoned for a felony.
  6. Elector who's been recalled by voters of Lincoln Heights Pursuant to Section 6.01 of the Charter shall not be qualified to serve on Council until five calendar years have passed since election by which the Elector was recalled.
  7. Councilmember cannot hold other public office.
  8. Councilmember cannot be employed by the Village of Lincoln Heights with the exception of a Notary Public, National Guard member or a Reserve in the Armed Forces.
  9. Councilmember must be willing to accept and receive ongoing training in laws or other regulations pertaining to Local, County, State, National or Federal affairs.
